I have only heard the french original but I doubt it's any different from the german. It's muddy, cassette type sound. Mp3s with closed headphones sound just as good or even better than the original vinyl.

Same as the other vp/greensleeves reissues I've heard, this does sound great! Strange though that the vocal tracks presented here does not always represent the vocal track used for the dub. It's the same riddims of course but some are dj cuts and some ... See full review

Blood & Fire reissued it in 2001 along with "Killer Dub". Different cover art though. http://thecabinetcupboard.com/Inner-Circle-Fatman-Riddim-Section-Heavyweight-Dub-Killer-Dub/release/600096

I can recommend the stereo version over the mono, at least when it comes to the German pressings. Mono sounds flat and compressed in comparison.

This original USA Island pressing sounds great! A big difference to the original UK, palm tree label, issue which sounds like the volume has been turned down several steps and is really lacking power.

I found out, to my surprise, that this dutch issue actually sounds better than the UK press. Great stereo mix as well.

Great sounding Japanese stereo reissue manufactured by King Record co. Holds up really well when compared to an early USA mono pressing. There's some power in these grooves!

The "wackies house of music" insert pictured here advertises records released much later than 1982, Milton Henry's album from 1985 etc.

This cant be a 1969 press. The 360 degree sound was used for both mono and stereo editions from 1963-1967http://londonjazzcollector.wordpress.com/record-labels-guide/columbia-records/columbia-us-labels/

Fantastic album but the US 70s reissue with different cover art, also in stereo, sounds better.

Quality early UK reissue. I could hear no difference in sound when compared back to back to the Island UK original. I have also heard the US 1982 reissue (EG editions) and without comparing it directly to any other issue, it sounded really thin to my ... See full review

A bit more volume in this german pressing compared to the USA issue (ENO 5). Generally a positive feature in a pressing but even more important on an album of this nature where light surface crackle, even on a NM record, easily disturbes the ambience.

Fantastic album but not a proper stereo mix on this issue unfortunately. Try to get the mono mix if possible.

Actually a proper stereo mix on this one, even though the original was only released in mono (I think..). Plays pretty loud too. Listened to a japanese 70s mono reissue recently and that was really weak sounding compared to this.

This is a reissue of the King Tubby album "Dub from the roots" from 1975 with different songtitles and apparently some issues with 12 tracks is missing the first and last track of that album.

You would suppose that this kind of record should be mono and that the stereo version might be "fake" but this is actually a great stereo mix and it sounds fantastic!
